Time (for the family) to eat
Logan’s Roadhouse rolls out new Family Meal kits to help families plan meals together

Our family has always been one that enjoys eating out once or twice a week, and with the culinary scene in Birmingham, it’s easy to find something new and tasty. But once COVID-19 arrived here, we found ourselves eating at home for every meal for the better part of three or four months.
We’ve been able to do curbside pickup from time to time in the last month or two, and this past Tuesday, we gave Logan’s Roadhouse’s new Family Meals a try. With my wife working late, it was a great opportunity for me to pick up something for my two kids, 7 and 10, and me to chow down on.

I would have been happy trying any of their five options, but to play it safe with kids, I went with their 20-piece chicken tender meal. The mountain of tenders came with two family-sized sides, and I chose cinnamon apples and sweet potato fries.
It was a great choice!
These chicken tenders weren’t your typical kids’ meal strips; they were hot and juicy even after the ride home (the closest location to us is about 25 minutes away, and as usual, we opted for curbside pickup…more about that in a moment). With just a hint of seasoning, they were perfect. My kids, who can be finicky about what they eat (I know, who has kids like this?), LOVED them. All in all, it was a great option to feed our family, and we even had plenty of leftovers for lunch this week.
What other options are on their Family Meal menu? I’m glad you asked:
- 20-Piece Chicken Tenders ($25) – All-natural chicken served classic style with honey mustard or BBQ sauce.
- Grilled Chicken Dinner ($25) – Four 8-ounce all-natural chicken breasts, served over rice pilaf with choice of Teriyaki or Parmesan Peppercorn style.
- Steak Dinner ($40) – Four 6-ounce USDA Choice, mesquite wood-grilled Sirloins.
- Ribs ($40) – Two full racks of baby back ribs, slow-cooked in-house and basted with BBQ sauce.
- BBQ ($25) – Two pounds of tender pulled pork
For sides, there are plenty to choose from:
- Corn
- Steamed broccoli
- Cinnamon apples
- French fries
- Mac & cheese
- Rice pilaf
- Sweet potato fries
- Loaded mashed potatoes
- Baked potato
- Chips
- Garden salad
- Caesar salad

About that curbside pickup option? If you aren’t quite ready to sit down inside a restaurant just yet, Logan’s curbside delivery option is a great option. We’ve done curbside at seven or eight restaurants since June, and it’s always convenient. But Logan’s went an extra step. The very friendly Logan’s employee asked me to open up each box and make certain it was just what we ordered. She made sure I was satisfied and thanked me for choosing their restaurant for dinner, something that doesn’t always happen with curbside delivery. All in all, it was a great meal made easy for us in every way. Kudos to the Logan’s in McCalla for a wonderful experience.
